Based on the real life of former professional ballet dancer and actor, Cameron Auble-Branigan, “SANDPAPER” is a story of overcoming obstacles and rediscovering one's passion, all set in the ballet world. Written by Auble-Branigan, Sandpaper is a story of a young man (Auble-Branigan) who - after getting accepted into a prestigious ballet school - suffers a serious injury. After recuperating, he doesn’t get his spot back and is seen as damaged goods by the director of the school (Oscar Best). With the help of his parents (Pamela Guest, David Ury), his newfound friend (Isabella Ward), his surgeon (Jon Fiore) and physical therapist (Eric Pierce), he learns that he can still pursue his dreams while balancing what is important in life outside of the dance studio.
Directed by actor/filmmaker Danny Mooney, known for directing movies such as Love and Honor and Injustice For All. Produced by former ballet dancer and filmmaker Dani Savka, along with Mooney and Auble-Branigan.
